On the momentous occasion of Foundation Day 2024 of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), I extend my heartfelt greetings to each one of you. From its humble beginnings in 1963, KVS has grown into an inspiring institution of excellence in school education. This remarkable journey continues to evolve, driven by an unwavering spirit of innovation and progress.

During the freedom struggle of India, the great poet of the country, Subramanya Bharati, said that three things are necessary to achieve true independence. First is education; second is education; and third is also education. From Nalanda and Takshila to the present educational system, the tradition and culture of thousands of years of India has always accepted education as a tool through which man makes himself social, civilized and humane. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is the torch bearer of this deep tradition of India, which has been successfully carrying out the responsible task of building the new generation of the country with the educational innovations of the modern era while assimilating the traditions of the times in the field of education. The innumerable teachers who give meaning to this penance of making the foundation of the country strong and consistent are the pride and glory of the organization. Whose Guru is also blind, the disciple is completely innocent. The blind man's plate, both are in the well. Come, let us take this saying of Kabir as a warning and move ahead on the path of our duty so that our students can develop in all aspects and the country and society can progress progressively.

We live in an era in the academic sphere, in which the educational intuitions are weighed almost only by mere academic excellence. The human values are thrown in the wind. The modern world is full of chaos, distractions, greed and selfishness. Gandhiji said "Education is an all round drawing out of the best in child and man, body and spirit" Have we not turned to only 'marks'? Look around at the bill boards that boast with the photographs of high achievers, mad rush of the parents in search of coaching centers that they think that they could turn their children into gold by paying any amount Education has become a commodity. Those pay high seemingly satisfied with high scores devoid of ' modification of behavior'. By hook or crook marks have occupied the driver's seat and values the back seat. Dear Learned Colleagues I urge my colleagues to weed out these ills and do the little we can to shape the young minds for preparing for their better future while we strive to accomplish the organizational goal, the bench mark we are mandated to achieve. We, the teachers grumble often different conflicting goals that we are coerced to achieve. Don't we often suggest how things can be and should be. Let the change we aspire for commence from us Let's strive hard to cater to the individual interests and aspirations of every child in our Vidyalaya and be a pole star that guides the ships that lost direction Let's all pledge ourselves to create the world that Tagore's dreamt of "Where the mind is without fear. and the head is held high, where knowledge is free. Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls" Let’s remind ourselves the firm faith that these lines proclaim upon every one of us "The destiny of the nation is shaped in the classrooms" Dear Parents You are great resources You can actively contribute to the effective functioning of the Vidyalaya The Vidyalaya welcomes your constructive suggestions Do come and interact with our teachers periodically about your children's interests and progress Your interest is or interest- make (y)our children grow socially a very responsible citizen and individually a wholesome personality Dear Students Dare to do things differently, Einstein quit the school when he realized he was wasting his precious time Explore into yourselves, Ask right questions, Identify what is your inner calling, work on it, work on it Nothing can stop your success. Success that can ultimately lead you to realization of what you are worthy of. Your life becomes meaningful, worth remembering and worth following and you will be of great service to you and the society
